Up until 9-Feb, the waves at the TriAxys buoy at Brighton were sea waves (periods less than 8 s) from the east-northeast, then swell waves (periods greater than 8 s) took over, peaking at noon on 9-Feb. These were the largest waves on record, but the record extends only from Feb-07 to Feb-08.
